SALT LAKE CITY, Utah (January, 2006) – With over twenty-five years of connecting winter sports enthusiasts to their passions, Yakima, a leading designer and manufacturer of vehicle racks and cargo boxes, will unveil an expanded cargo line at Outdoor Retailer Winter Market (ORWM) January 2006.  Incorporating Yakima’s new design language, Skybox and Skybox Pro will feature a line of custom accessories, including an LCD light, durable cargo net, internal pad for increased gear protection and a wall mount for convenient box storage when not in use.  These accessories enable winter sports enthusiasts to tailor the use of the box to their specific activities.  The expanded cargo line will be on display at ORWM 2006 (Room# 251B) in Salt Lake City, Utah, January 28 – 31, 2006.
Available in traditional black and a rich metallic color, additional Skybox features include: single latch security, dual side opening lid with a 50% increase in rigidity for a single hand closure; quick attachment hardware for easy mounting and removal; and a re-designed aerodynamic shape for reduced drag and wind noise.

“Today’s winter sports enthusiast has a number of gear transport and storage options,” said Mike Steck, director of marketing for Yakima Products.  “With this line of boxes and cargo accessories, we’ve paid great attention to detail, whether it’s providing an optional light for stowing gear at night, a pad for protecting box contents, a cargo net for stowing loose gear or durable materials that can stand up to the worst that Mother Nature has to offer.  We are offering smart, performance solutions.”

The premium box line will be available spring 2006 with price varying based on size.
