Yakima Will Unveil the Next Generation of its Ski and Snowboard Mounts at Outdoor Retailer Winter Market, January 2006 in Salt Lake City.

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah (January, 2006) – Re-affirming its commitment to the winter sports community, Yakima, a leading designer and manufacturer of innovative vehicle racks and cargo boxes, will unveil the next generation of its ski and snowboard mounts at Outdoor Retailer Winter Market, January 2006 in Salt Lake City.  Utilizing Yakima’s recently launched design language, the ski and snowboard mounts feature consistent form, consumer-friendly features and attention to detail, providing winter sports enthusiasts with a higher level of performance.  Yakima’s new line of ski and snowboard mounts, priced between $99 and $199, will be on display in (Room# 251B) January 28 – 31, 2006.

Yakima’s new winter mount offering includes the premium FatCat 4 and FatCat 6, the mid range PowderHound and Big PowderHound and the limited edition FreshSesh.

The FatCat line, available in premium gray, is fully adjustable and accommodates bulky snowboard bindings, fat powder and parabolic skis and thin cross country skis within the same rack.   

The redesigned PowderHound line has a new finish for enhanced weather protection and a universal mounting attachment that ensures rack compatibility on almost any car out of the box.  The PowderHound has a capacity of up to four pairs of skis or two snowboards, while the Big PowderHound accommodates up to six pairs skis or four snowboards.  Both mounts have an ergonomic lever for easy opening.  The line also offers enhanced rubber padding at gear touch points, ensuring that skis and snowboards are securely mounted under the coldest conditions.  The limited edition FreshSesh will be available in an eye catching white finish.  

Yakima’s entire line of winter sport mounts have an integrated universal attachment that fits a wide variety of vehicles and racks.  Additionally, the line is fully compatible with Yakima’s SKS (same key system) locking cores, providing an added level of theft protection.
