Established Retailer to Begin Selling Yakima’s Ground Control and Full Line of Winter Sport, Bike and Paddle Sport Racks and Cargo Boxes March 2006

BEAVERTON, Ore. (February 2, 2006) – Yakima, a leading designer and manufacturer of innovative vehicle racks, cargo boxes and home storage solutions, today announced that beginning March, 2006, Ski Market Ltd. (www.skimarket.com), a leading retailer of gear and equipment for outdoor enthusiasts, will become an official Yakima dealer.  Ski Market will sell Yakima’s line of winter sport, bike and paddle sport racks, its line of cargo boxes and the Ground Control, Yakima’s recently launched gear management solution for the home.  The line will be available in 18 stores throughout Conn., Mass., N.H., N.Y., and R.I.

Yakima’s newly introduced product design language features clean lines, premium styling, enhanced ease of use, and will provide Ski Market customers with a style driven, innovative alternative to what is presently available in the rack market. The Ground Control organizational system is the only gear management solution of its kind, designed specifically for garages, studio or loft apartments and other small spaces.  The new product design language is featured in the FatCat 6, a premium ski and snowboard mount and the SkyBox, the first customizable rooftop cargo box unveiled at last week’s Snowsports Industries America and the 2006 Outdoor Retailer Winter Market in Salt Lake City.

“Yakima’s commitment to developing smart product solutions reinforces its leadership position in the gear transport and management category,” noted Andy Ferguson, CEO of Ski Market.  “From the Ground Control, Yakima’s answer to gear management in the home, to its pipeline of industry-changing product, Yakima is leading the innovative curve. We look forward to Yakima being a long time Ski Market partner.”

To support this new partnership, Yakima will plan and execute a comprehensive marketing campaign that includes merchandising, collateral and consumer viral elements.  In addition, Yakima’s “RoadWarrior” retail training program will be making stops at numerous Ski Market Locations throughout the year.
