Jim Clark Resigning to Pursue New Interests; Yakima CFO Jay Wilson to Serve as Interim CEO During Search

BEAVERTON, Ore. (May 23, 2006) –Yakima Products, Inc., today announced that it is conducting a search for a new CEO following the resignation of Yakima CEO Jim Clark.  Mr. Clark, who has held various leadership positions with the company over his eight-year tenure, first at WaterMark, then at Yakima, will stay on until mid-June to facilitate a transfer of responsibilities to Jay Wilson, Yakima’s CFO.  Mr. Wilson will serve as interim CEO until a new CEO is brought on board.

“Today, Yakima is a single-brand company with a more streamlined organization, well positioned for the future. I feel that now is the right time to bring in new leadership,” said Mr. Clark.  “A few weeks ago, I informed the board of my desire to explore new opportunities and agreed to stay on until mid-June to enable a smooth transition.  I have been fortunate to spend my entire 20-year career in the outdoor industry and have enjoyed it immensely.  Now, I have the opportunity to take a step back, spend time with my family and figure out what I want to do for the next 20 years.  Given my passion for the outdoors, valued relationships and involvement with the Outdoor Industry Association, I likely won’t land far from my roots.”
Mr. Clark continued, “The talented senior team we have at Yakima and all of the excellent employees throughout the company will ensure that Yakima maintains its forward momentum.”

“Jim Clark has helped us through the challenges of selling the WaterMark boat brands and relocating our headquarters to Beaverton, Oregon,” said interim CEO Jay Wilson.  “Today, Yakima is focused with a clear vision for the future.  The search for a new CEO is well under way, with exciting candidates expressing interest in the top position.  We thank Jim for his leadership and dedication and wish him all the best in his new ventures.”
