Q: How many do I need?
A: One placed in the middle of the front bar is usually all that is needed. Using more than one may reduce noise marginally, but using a fairing is the best way to go.
Q: How is it installed? Do I have to disassemble the rack?
A: It spreads open on the trailing edge and snaps closed ala zip-lock style.
Q: How does it work?
A: First of all, the primary cause of roof rack wind noise is harmonic vibration (impress your friends with that line!) When angled up or down a few degrees, the WindJammer redirects enough wind to dampen that vibration considerably.
