I own a mazda CX-5 and bought this rack from group trips to the mountain. It will fit exactly what was described (4 snowboards). Sleek & feels stable on top of my car. Best of all it's completely silent on the road. Highly recommend!

Quickly figured out how to assemble it. The popped it on the car. The tool-less setup made install a breeze. Fit my factory crossbars on my Subaru, just like the fitment guide said it would. Used it all last winter and had as many as 4 boards in it. Already put them on the car and I'm ready for some snow!! I love the auto-expanding feature - the hinge side is spring loaded and will expand a little bit when stacking a full load of boards.

Locks work fine for me, even when loaded... Isn't that the whole reason for locks? To prevent issues with the locks freezing, spray a couple of drops of WD-40 in them. WD= "Water Displacement" so it will prevent water from collecting and freezing.

  • I WILL NEVER BUY FROM ANYONE ELSE

    Review by Andy

Hands down the best snowboard racks on the market. I started with the Big Powderhounds and loved them until Yakima came out with the even better Powderhound 6's. They are light and the new slick black look simply couldn't get any better I love this product and would highly recommend to any snowboarder or skier whom is looking for a more convenient way to pack your shredsticks to the mountain!

Installed first ever yakima rack on top of Yukon XL. Maybe bc this was my first time, I found the directions/install a bit tricky. That said, I figured it out with a little of extra time and think you would too. Rack has served my family of 5 well. One snow board and 4 sets of skis fits pretty easy despite my skis being >100mm wide. I will say that 4 wide skis and the board probably wouldn't fit. Lock and hinges works easily.
